EN 374 Protection from Chemicals and Micro-organisms
Low chemical resistance or waterproof glove pictogram is to be used for those gloves that do not achieve a breakdown time of at least 30 minutes against three chemicals for the pre-defined list (but which comply with the penetration test).

EN 374 Protection from Chemicals and Micro-organisms
This standard specifies the capability of gloves to protect the user against chemicals and/or micro-organisms.

EN 374 Protection from Chemicals and Micro-organisms
Resistance to penetration by micro-organisms. Referred to as acceptable quality level (AQL).

EN 388 Mechanical Risks
This standard applies to protective gloves giving protection from mechanical risks in respect of physical problems caused by abrasion, blade cut, puncture and tearing. Depending on the version of the standard, if the glove shows this symbol it has achieved a performance index according to the respective attributes below. The scores are displayed under the pictogram from left to right.

2003 Version
A. Resistance to abrasion – Rating 0-4
B. Blade cut resistance – Rating 0-5
C. Tear resistance – Rating 0-4
D. Puncture resistance – Rating 0-4

2016 Version
A. Resistance to abrasion – Rating 0-4
B. Blade cut resistance – Rating 0-5
C. Tear resistance – Rating 0-4
D. Puncture resistance – Rating 0-4
E. Blade cut resistance (ISO test) – Rating A-F
F. Impact resistance (P)

EN 407 Heat-related Risks
Tested levels of glove performance in terms of the following risks:
• Resistance to flammability – Rating 0 to 4
• Resistance to contact heat – Rating 0 to 4
• Resistance to convective heat – Rating 0 to 3
• Resistance to radiant heat – Rating 0 to 4
• Resistance to small splashes of molten metal – Rating 0 or 1
• Resistance to large splashes of molten metal – Rating 0 or 1

“0” means that during the test level 1 was not reached. “X” means that the test was not performed or not possible.

EN 511 Cold-related Risks
Tested levels of glove performance in terms of the following risks:
• Climatic or industrial cold transmitted by convection – Rating 0 to 4
• Climatic or industrial cold transmitted by contact – Rating 0 to 4
• Impermeability to water – Rating 0 or 1
If the glove shows this symbol, it has achieved a performance index for (from left to right) climatic cold or industrial cold transmitted by convection, climatic cold or industrial cold transmitted by contact, impermeability to water.

“0” means that during the test level 1 was not reached. “X” means that the test was not performed or not possible.

Food Handling
Gloves suitable for food handling must carry this symbol or be labelled ‘For Food Use’.
